This article will instruct users on how to set up multifactor authentication in order to log into Sonicwall NetExtender when working remotely.
Prerequisites:
- Active Directory credentials (i.e. springboro\username).
- Mobile Device (smartphone, tablet)
- Laptop Device (should have NetExtender installed)
- Microsoft Authenticator app. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/security/mobile-authenticator-app
- Know that MFA is the abbreviation for Multifactor Authentication
- Know that 2FA is the abbreviation for Two-Factor Authentication
- Internet Access
Setup
1. Go to https://vpn.unitedwheels.com. Click the Advanced button. |

2. Click the link at the bottom to Proceed to vpn.unitedwheels.com (unsafe) | |
3. In the Domain field Type : unitedwheels This is case sensitive |

4. Put in your username and password. Password will be the same as what you use for your email account. |
|
5. Open Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device and click the and +Add Account (If you dont have this, download it to your mobile phone) |

6. Select Other account (Google, Facebook, etc.) | |
7. Your phone should turn to a QR code scanner, scan the QR code on the SonicWall Virtual Office website.

8. Click on the new account in your Microsoft Authenticator app in order to see the MFA code. | |
9. This code is used to authenticate your account using MFA. | |
10. Put the code from your app, into the Code input box on the SonicWall Virtual Office website.

11. Click on your initials in the upper right hand corner of the Sonicwall Virtual Office. 12. Select Log Out. Go to your NetExtender app on your laptop. |
VPN using MFA
1. Open Sonicwall NetExtender, change the domain to unitedwheels. Server should be vpn.unitedwheels.com or vpn.huffy.com. |

2. Select the Always Trust button on the Security Alert pop up window. | |
3. Get the MFA code from your Microsoft Authenticator app. Remember, there is a 30 second timer on the code. | |
4. Input the MFA code into the Authentication popup. Click the OK button. | |
5. You are now connected to the Corporate network via MFA. |
